Problem of Lane Detection

Autonomous vehicles are an important up-and-coming technology that require lane detection to ensure proper operation and safety. In addition, lane detection is being implemented in many non-autonomous vehicles as a safety measure. In case a driver becomes distracted or tired, the car can alert the driver if the car begins to drive outside of the lane bounds.

For these reasons, accurate lane detection is an essential piece of technology, and one that our group wanted to gain familiarity with and hopefully improve.

Image Detection

Our initial project goal was to develop a program that could detect lanes in images. Click here to learn about our code and system.

Video Detection

After we detected lanes in images, we moved to detecting lanes in videos. Click to see more of our process and algorithm.

Stop Sign Detection

In addition to lanes detection, we've also developed an algorithm to detect stop signs in images and videos. Click to see more of that algorithm.
